The crew is really happy this morning. Decisions are coming easily. You can see that in how we get the watch schedule going. Everyone is acting more Canadian every day. Each crew member takes a 3 hour shift starting at 6pm.
Last night; in the 3-6 am watch Steve and James hailed a Barque from France as they were headed a little too close. After a cordial interaction the boys decided to change course to accommodate the ship headed to Montreal.
The boat is performing admirably. Either under sail or when we need to use the engine.
It seems like we have our electrical consumption under control. No need, so far, for the cabin heater. We have been wearing winter jackets after sunset.
Everyone was up this morning when a school of Atlantic White -sided dolphins came along side. The thrill of it affects everyone whether you’re seeing them for the first time or the 100th.
We saw our first Gannets yesterday, today we had a dozen or so dive bombing into a school of fish. There were Greater Shearwaters in the mix as well as the first Sooty Shearwater of the trip.

And it could get serious; the French press is too small.
