Hi, this will be brief. I heard that maybe the AIS locator is not working so I want to let everybody know we’re moving right along towards Greenland. We’ve had some heavy winds and big waves and clear skies and whales and lots and lots of fulmars and shearwaters a few puffins. The sun‘s been out most of the day more tomorrow. All is well

Hi All! As far as I remember it the AIS for most non-commercial vessels only works within 50-60nm of land based receivers, tops. Only a satellite uplink would work all the time and I think they are crazy expensive. But it would be great to have a position on each post if you can. I am working a dead reckoning based on estimated boat speed and wind, tides etc. I am making personal bets on my accuracy! I wish you fair winds and fun times. Nick PS Johnny, thanks for the great posts and pictures/videos….it is all superb!

Yay! I was relying on that marine tracker so I’m so glad to know it’s inaccurate
