So about two hours ago we were headed into Reykjavik. as I said last night a harbor nearby. No one really wanted to give up on the north coast and go to the “big city” but weather dictates.
We veered off to the south to hit Vestmannaeyjar an island off south of the Iceland Island. It has the fuel and water we need , and likely showers.

Last night the smell got bad . I was at the Nav table, the aft head behind me and there was a stench. I wasn’t sure , was it me? Or the head?
We changed course because the latest intelligence shows a big storm coming around the west side of the island. It would have locked us in to Reykjavik. Then we would have another day to get to the Island with the big long name.
So we headed into the wind some, healing some. And delayed the showers by about 10 hours.
“Pay attention”: you got to zoom in. There is an archipelago called “watchtehfuckout:” Or in Iceland Eldey and Eldeyjardrangur. These are the names of two of the clusters of rocks/islands we will need to “pay attention to” tonight. That means we zoom in on the computer screen to make sure we see them.

This day and yesterday were reaches. Wind over the beam of the boat making for generous sailing 8 knots of speed. Gentle rolls. Elegant, sailing. Naps and long conversations in the cockpit.
So much of the time we are building things. James’ house, Charlie’s boat, my sauna, Larry’s house down the road.
Mid morning I saw 2 and then another 2 terns. I think Arctic Terns. Unless migrating, not seabirds. So, close to Land? The call from these birds, some of you have heard it, made for the first bird noise since Greenland. More shearwaters, Greater and Sooty Shearwaters maybe Manx. Some uncertain Auks. But it was such a day to be outside. I watched James block the sign from getting in his eyes. We pealed layers off as the sign warmers our souls. That is a quote.
Around mid-night last night Charlie spotted a cruise ship on AIS. Here is a haunting picture of what looked like a ghostly.

Highlight; James’s got to sleep on the lee side of the boat. What the heck does that mean? The boat is at angle when on a reach. Cooking is at 30 degrees. Try getting on a bingo board and cooking. So, when the sleeping comes on the lee side you can roll into the soft cushions. Much better sleep
