We are going to be in the Faroes later tonight. We will wake up in a new country, again.
We have been out for sometime now and it occurred to me that we have lots of people at home who have supported this trip and made it possible. They made it possible for us to be out here for so long.
So a big hearty thank you to the business partners and parents, sisters and brothers, spouses and girlfriends, our children.
The crossing from Iceland has been pretty smooth. 2 hour watches start at around 9 pm and go into the morning.
We will be 2-3 days here in these islands and then off to the Shetlands. When I asked someone who has been to Shetland what to do there, he said “find a pub and see if there is some good local fiddle music being played>”
We are close hauled and have been for some time. It’s been raining, colder now. We are tacking back and forth to get in line to enter a channel that will take us to Vestamanna Harbor. The timing of entry, we are only 20 or so miles a way in a straight line into the channel is dictated by a pretty ferocious tidal current.
So Charlie made some fish tacos, James is cleaning up at angle, Larry at the helm making the mark.
